Irrational Desires

Sometimes I wish
I could sleep for weeks or months at a time
outside of aging
just waiting for the prickle of change in the wind
that would tell me the world
was worth experiencing again.

The sun and moon
would waltz across the sky
I would pay them  no mind
their games of light and dark
would just be a back drop
to my uninhabited home.

To not be aware of
the pressure of the universe
would be a wonderful thing
even if it were just one day
time passes so slowly or quickly
depending on what way
you look at the clock.
